- The Stank Is... -
Four trails. The Blue. The Yellow. The White. The Outhouse.
The Blue trail at ~2 miles is short with a couple of brushy turns and a few big drops. Be sure and take to the second drop like a cock-fight. You can bomb straight down or veer left and bank it. Either way, hug the right at the bottom or you're going in the drink, sailor. Races usually start with this loop. Also, a great pre-race warmup loop.
The Yellow trail at 2.2 miles is certainly the tighest of the bunch. Several "tree pinball" sections will leave the bowlegged bruised and the wide bar types swollen. There are some hyper-slippery bridges, log piles, a dippity-doo creek crossing and a stellarized tree ramp boardwalk in this section.
The White trail is 5.1 miles long and is the most lung challenging. Several up and down gradual nuisances will annoy your shifters and test your patience. Inside this 5 mile loop is the Outhouse trail. About a mile long, this trail
is fast and furious. Hammer as hard as you want, Pedro, it rolls and dips and bounces like the best you ever had. The Outhouse trail finishes with a fire road escape to the buttend section of the White loop where you jet past the huckin' pre-pubes on the BMX park and then you're home free, you ultra-cool mutha' you.
Rinse and repeat.
Fast laps are in the low 40's.
Slow laps are over an hour. Don't do those.

- Other Trails Are... -
Herb Parson's Lake Trail - (GPS) - Located about a light year east of Memphis, this pleasant rolling trail circles Herb Parson's lake in Fisherville TN. Primo ride in either direction. Conveniently, SCC and RB's Racing will stage the 6 Hours of Herb Parson's here. Check in before each ride and watch for the Bowhunter's events.
Lakeland Trails - (GPS) - The hilliest we got 'round here. 3 short loops comprise a nice little ride. Hit them hard and repeat for great interval training. Lay a baker's dozen on the Yellow trail. That'll put some stink in your shorts, hombre.
Tour De Wolf - (GPS) - See the rusted car! Marvel at the tombstone! Visit the old Indian Sweat Lodge! It's all here in a tidy little 7 mile loop in the heart of Shelby Farms. Singletrack, doubletrack, dips, fireroads and pony lanes offer a great after work spin.
Wolf River Trails - A whole slew of interconnected flat, speedy and tight loops that run along the Wolf River in East Memphis. Some you can ride, some you can't. Home to the annual Bulldozer 500.
The Epic - (GPS) - Rusted out quarter-panel: $25. Tetanus lurking around every corner: $50. Titanium pins for your shattered wrist fibula $10k. Burnt out Ford Windstar: $28k. Miles and miles and miles of sugary-sweet, bermed doubletrack to take you downtown, easttown and back around: Priceless. Beg your wife for one more ride. You can buy gauze on the way home
